I like to do designing, developing for E-Shopping and Internet Marketing sites. I wanted to know which platform Magento Vs Amazon WebStore is best.
I was an Amazon Employee for 2 years and 8 months. I worked for 40+ E-Commerce on Amazon WebStore, eCommere platform including big clients like ToyWatch USA, Timex, etc. I have heard other popular eCommerce Magento.
Based on my experience in designing, database & developing, I must admit that both platform are great, powerful and have some limitation.
My conclusion is Amazon WebStore and Magento have similar function structure such as browse the products, the product category, the product description, the checkout, shipping, etc. But Magento has slightly advantage than Amazon WebStore, that is you can download and install Magento Package on your machine and executing it live on your own machine ( http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1) While Amazon WebStore 2.0 can’t
So, I like to work in either Amazon WebStore or Magento. I’m happy to have the great experience on these wonderful platform.

After tweaking the Amazon In-Built header (read Amazon WebStore 1.0), I finally refined more attractive sites for WebStores. that means Header, Navigation menu, footer, section, search box can be customized. See the screenshots.

I tweaked the limitation traditional header of the Amazon WebStore. Using the CSS and JavaScript to make the header flexible and more optional to change the header. Fancied the Search Box and Go Button.
Since Oct 2007, I have been working for many merchants. I could get 3 to 4 merchants per months. I always involved from the visual design to the web development till the site gets launched. I also work on the category and product management as well as sales / shipping/ checkout. I tweak the limitation(Front-End) of WebStore 1.o using the CSS and JavaScript to make the visual more appearance. Enjoying myself!!

Great News! my project Sparsh won the best 2007 Intranet Design Awards by Nielsen Norman Group. You can see my name. In this project, I’m mostly involved in the web development and making the table-less (XHTML/CSS2) using DIV. I created the JavaScript to handle the templates & Widgets to support the millions of pages & constantly updates daily.
I’m working on the flash development for this Infosys Annual Report 2004/5 in the multimedia CD as well as Internet. The Internet version of Annual report 2004/5 is available online.
I’m in the second project WorldBank after I moved from General Motors. lots of the front-end development work 
also for some interaction design. I’m involved the visual design with the onsite team members Nandhu, Alok, Geeti and Tariq. I’m involved with the offshore team members Mishra, Rajesh and Subbu. I have to make the worldbank a very accessibility site because of the US laws. I have to test the for blind, colour blindness. We used the LIFT a dreamweaver extn to track down the bugs. We have to make CSS file compatibility for accessibility.

All the beautiful visual design did by Modem Media UK. I’m involved mostly in the interaction design and web development for each different continents like South America, Middle East & Asia – I’m doing the flash actionscript for Car slide Showroom – Specification – Colour Changer – Models etc.
I’m at side the visual designing with my senior designers Nandu and Madhu. I have to convert the PSD to HTML/CSS. Also I have to assist my technical support to the software engineers to setup up the State Bank Of India (SBI) banking account online first ever.
